August EPL Prediction

I have 2 suggestions for today. First up,

W B A - Stoke

A good home team, coach by a experience English coach who emphasis on a strong defense and organization. Couple with a good squad and a new striker who seem to be able to cut it at this level.

Well Stoke is pretty much similar too but this time they are the away team and they've played a Europa league match during midweek.

Thus I'm pretty confident that Roy can have his first win of the season

WBA @1.90

Manchester U - Arsenal

Well Arsenal the team in the news lately for all the wrong reason. A team that has not won a major honors for 6 years and have lost keys players in Cesc and Nasir. Lastly much needed re-enforcement has yet been injected in key positions since a few seasons ago.

As for the Red Devils they just seem to grow from strength to strength and their new and young players just seem to blend in seamlessly. Man U just seem to be full of confidence now and Arsenal just seems deflated at the current moment. Couple with the draining midweek Champion League match with Udinese.

The Devils are odds on to win and I just got to agreed with it.

Man U @1.30

August 27 EPL Prediction

Well folks, I have no great suggestion for this week. To me not a single teams is backable on the 1X2 markets.

There's no way i can accept that Villa, Wigan, Everton and Swansea is the favourite against Wolves, QPR, Blackburn and Sunderland respectively.

Wolves has been strong and consistent so far while Villa is blowing hot and cold.

QPR seems to get a gripe with life at the premiership with their win at Everton and Wigan nas not impress me so far.

Everton have a tradition of starting the season very slowly as shown last week.

Swansea just doesn't seems to have the cutting edge.

If there's folk out there that just can't resists a bet, I would suggest doing this. Just pick the choice out of 1X2 that has the best odds. Thus the choice will be as follow,

Wolves @3.90
Wigan and QPR to draw @3.05
Swans and Sunderland to draw @3.05
Blackburn @3.15

As for Chelsea and Liverpool, I would suggest contrasting performance for both team. With Chelsea making easy work on Norwich and Liverpool struggling with Bolton.

Norwich doesn't have the organization of WBA and a marksman like Shane Long. Thus i expect Chelsea to tear the Canaries apart.

Liverpool seems like a team that's in  transistion and I felt that last week win over the gunners is more due to Arsenal self destructing.

Hence folks who's playing on Asian Handicap, try Chelsea and Bolton.

August 21 EPL Prediction

Norwich - Stoke

Stoke a team that has improve season after season under Tony Pulis. But I'm afraid this season maybe just a bridge too far. I have seen too many mid table teams that have 1 good season and got themselves into Europe only to realise that the squads is not capable to handle the rigours of both fronts. Resulting into bad results and performance in the league.

Now Stoke has travel to Thun, Finland for a mid week games and now has to travel to Norwich for a away game. Can the players handle this ? I very much doubts so.

Norwich, I really cannot make too much about them and i know i have suffer a bit supporting newly promoted team but still i can't resists backing the Canaries for this match. Odds at 2.5 is quite good too.

August 20 EPL Prediction

Aston Villa - Blackburn

There's has been a saying that football is round thus in a game anything can happen. But I really can't see anything but a win for Villa. Last week Villa is indebted to Shay Given to rescue a point at Fulham. This week, i really think Given can take a back seat and let his team mates like Darren Bent to do the job this week.

Blackburn is simply awful in all department including the manager. They are simply lousy in all department and they even lose to Wolves despite taking lead at home. As for their manager i will be surprised that he will last till of the year.

Last check with Singpool, Villa to win @1.6

Swansea - Wigan

The first Welsh team to reach the premiership and to do it in a fluent passing style similar to Barcelona. Ironically the first home team the Swans entertain at home is the their ex manager that started the revolution, Roberto Martinez.

As such i see a very motivated Swansea team who will go all out to prove their ex manager wrong in leaving the club. Couple with the fact that Wigan are pure S@$#$t on their travels. I would pick the Swans to overwhelm Wigan at home.

Current odds at Singpool, 2.15 for a Swans win.

Chelsea - W B A

No competition here at all. Chelsea to win. Torres is looking sharp and the rest of the Chelsea team shown that strength and power still run strongly in the team. Hence I believe WBA will be simply be overpower by Chelsea.

I know Peter Cech is out but to you think WBA will really test the Chelsea team ? I know the odds are lousy @1.18 now. However to find a game to bet without much stress and pressful, you don't come much closer to this game.

August 14 EPL Prediction

No bets for today.

Cos the odds is just too low for the likely winners namely Man U and Chelsea. If any folks out there can't resists a bet, I would suggest buying draw as the odds is rather lucrative and to me there's a 30% chance of it happening.

Thus the odds and percentage ratio is worth the bet.

August 13 EPL Prediction

Fulham - Aston Villa

Martin Jol has inherited a good squad, stable in all department and he has the backing of the board and the support of the fans.

Alex Mcleish on the other hand has a no win situation on his hand. The villains faithful will never accept him and will pounce on him on the first sign of trouble. Couple with the fact that key players in Ashley Young and Downing is not properly replace and Fulham a string home team. I will pick Fulham to win.

Last check with Singpools, Fulham to win @1.90.

Q P R - Bolton

QPR will be my choice to win tonight but this is more a against Bolton bet. Bolton have suffered wretched luck during pre season with long term injury to Tyrone Mears and Lee. In addition, Owen Coyle has not replace Sturridge and Elmander both scoring the bulk of the goals for Bolton last season

Lastly the QPR squad looks not too bad and a home game after being out of the football top tier for so long. I would expect QPR to be full of running and spirits.

Last check with Singpools, QPR to win @2.02.

Comments :

Good passing and attacking team. However weak against teams that play blood and thunder style of football. Examples include, Stoke City and Sam Allardyce led Bolton Wanderer. However recently has seem able to cope with phyiscal team.

In addition, has shown lack of concentration in past season letting leads to be drop and overtaken by team. Results against Wigan and Newcastle were prime examples.

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : Mixed.Capable of passing and attacking football. Also capable of phyiscal old school style.

Key players : To be updated.

Comments :

Strong new look team. But need to see if the new team can gel as major change in personnel this season. Also need 1 more commanding defender in the heart of defence.

MANCHESTER CITY

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : Balanced

Comments :

String team with lots of depth. But team can look uninspiring in play and laborous at times. In my view, if david silva is taken out of the game, Man city will be a headless chicken. But if Sergio Aguero will to step up then things might be different.

MANCHESTER UNITED:

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : Attacking with play down the wings.

Past Season overall results : To be updated.

Comments :

Hate to admit but very strong teams. In my view, with or without a new attacking midfielder they are very well equipped. With Tom Ceverly, I believe they have a replacement. My strategy is to bet against them in away games as there's a lack of concentration while playing away. Otherwise stay out cos the odds on home game are mostly too short.

NEWCASTLE UNITED

2010-11 season

Premier League: 12th

FA Cup: Third round

Carling Cup: Fourth round

Players in: Yohan Cabaye (Lille) £4.3m*, Sylvain Marveaux (Rennes) Free, Demba Ba (West Ham) Free, Mehdi Abeid (Lens) Free, Gabriel Obertan (Manchester United) undisclosed

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : Balanced

Past Season overall results : To be updated.

Comments :

Too many change to the first team especially the loss of Kevin Nolan may prove too much. Will reserve my judgement later but will bet against them in away homes if the they facing traditional strong home team like Everton and Fulham.

NORWICH CITY:

2010-11 season

Championship: 2nd

FA Cup: Third round

Carling Cup: Second round

Players in: James Vaughan (Everton) £2m*, Steve Morison (Millwall) £2.8m*, Bradley Johnson (Leeds) Free, Anthony Pilkington (Huddersfield) £2m*, Ritchie de Laet (Manchester United) Loan, Elliott Bennett (Brighton) £2m*, Kyle Naughton (Tottenham) Loan

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : To be updated

Past Season overall results : To be updated.

Comments :

Never see QPR play before. Hence will reserve judgement for now. Will update later in the season. But i think Stephen Warnock is out of depth in this league.

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : Balance

Comments :

Strong home team with phyiscal approach. But we can see play changing to a more pass and thrust approach. Again a must bet while playing at home against team with slow passing approach and weak phyiscal presence.

SUNDERLAND:

2010-11 season

Premier League: 10th

FA Cup: Third round

Carling Cup: Third round

Players in: Ahmed Elmohamady (ENPPI) £2m*, Conor Wickham (Ipswich) £8.1m, rising to £12.5m*, Sebastian Larsson (Birmingham) Free, Kieran Westwood (Coventry) Free, Ji Dong-won (Chunnam Dragons) £2.1m*, Craig Gardner (Birmingham) £4.5, rising to £6m*, David Vaughan (free agent), Wes Brown (Manchester United) £5m*, John O'Shea (Manchester United) £1m*, Roarie Deacon (Arsenal) Free, James McClean (Derry City) £350,000

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : Balance

Past Season overall results : To be updated.

Comments :

Strong balance team with lots of depth. But never really replace Darren Bent thus can only be back while playing at home.

SWANSEA:

2010-11 season

Championship: 3rd

FA Cup: Fourth round

Carling Cup: Fourth round

Players in: Danny Graham (Watford) £3.5m, Michel Vorm (FC Utrecht) £1.5m, Jose Moreira (Benfica) £750,000, Wayne Routledge (Newcastle), Leroy Lita (Middlesbrough) £1.75m, Steven Caulker (Tottenham) Loan

Players out: Jamie O'Hara (Wolves) £5m, Bongani Khumalo (Reading) Loan, Nathan Byrne (Bournemouth) Loan, Ryan Mason (Doncaster) Loan, Kyle Naughton (Norwich) Loan, Stephen Caulker (Swansea) Loan.

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : Passing and Attacking wing play

Past Season overall results : To be updated.

Comments :

Strong starting elven and a good bet at home but still think current strikers not prolific enough. If modric really leave may leave team mentally demoralised.

WEST BROM:
2010-11 season

Premier League: 11th

FA Cup: Third round

Carling Cup: Quarter-finals

Players in: Zoltan Gera (free agent), Ben Foster (Birmingham) Loan, Billy Jones (free agent), Gareth McAuley (Ipswich) Free, Marton Fulop (Ipswich) Free.

Players out: Boaz Myhill (Birmingham) Loan, Scott Carson (Bursaspor) £2m*, Borja Valero (Villarreal), Chris Wood (Birmingham) Loan

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : Balanced

Past Season overall results : To be updated.

Comments :

Solid, organised team which is a trademark of all Roy Hodgson team except liverpool. Which i think precieve his style as unglamarous and not willing to comply hence the poor result. Strong bet at home and a team to go against away.

WIGAN:

2010-11 season

Premier League: 16th

FA Cup: Fourth round

Carling Cup: Quarter-finals

Players in: Dave Jones (free agent), Ali Al-Habsi (Bolton) £4m*

Key players : To be updated.

Playing style : Patient Passing

Past Season overall results : To be updated.

Comments :

No signicant players in but loss of best player in Charles N'Zogbia. Will stay away from backing them and most surely against them away. Only exception is to back them while playing against Arsenal. :-)

WOLVES:

2010-11 season

Premier League: 17th

FA Cup: Fourth round

Carling Cup: Fourth round

Players in: Jamie O'Hara (Wolves) £5m, Dorus de Vries (Swansea) Free, Roger Johnson (Birmingham) £7m*

Comments :

Solid, organised and solid team playing from home. Back them at home and against them while away.

Introduction to my blog

Dear Reader,

I have felt compelled to write about EPL match prediction for years and I have finally done so today. :) Reason for me to write this blog is to share my experience in results prediction for EPL and advise fellow like minded friends out there who like to place a small wager while watching football. But I would like to make it clear here, football will always be first and fore most my eternal passion. Betting on the results is just a secondary exercise. Placing a wager is purely to enhance the excitement and i would like to make it clear here that I'm not encouraging betting of any form here. Compulsive gambling will never make you rich. In fact if spiral out of control will bring harm to you and your love ones.

Thus i would beseech to whoever is reading this, play responsibly and legally. Have fun and enjoy the beautiful game.
